Taking his name from the missing letters of a street sign, Atlanta-based street artist OLABAD has been painting and wheat pasting all over the city lately. His ongoing Smiles series takes his drawings of the facial expression off faces and onto walls, buildings, and water towers. His Dreamcatchers series, pasting the American Indian symbol at sites where homeless people sleep, was inspired by a comment from a homeless man who noted Olabad’s dreamcatcher hanging in his car. He hopes for the symbol of the dreamcatcher to become synonymous with empathy towards the homeless and gratitude for what you have, and plans to build a show around this series, donating half the profits to the specific homeless people in the photos. Keep an eye out for him in the future!
